I am married and we have 6 grown up children. I gave birth in the days before Doulas, and what a different experience it could have been if I had had Doula support. My path to becoming a Doula began when I was birth support to my daughter and her partner. Witnessing the birthing of my grandson was totally awe inspiring, and later learning what a difference a listening ear, and a few menial chores can make to a new family. I was her Doula before I realised what they were! I trained at BirthBliss Academy and I couldn’t wait to get out into the world to empower, enable, support and help women achieve the best birthing experience. I have been working as a mentored Doula to help birthing parents and providing postnatal care since then and love to support parents find their feet in the strange but exciting new world of parenthood.
