Personal Statement
I have always felt ‘at home’ when in the company of pregnant women and new babies. Being a Doula is very special, supporting women on that journey into motherhood, enabling them to have a positive antenatal, birthing and postnatal experience – even on the hard days. I want women to know that on this journey into motherhood, they are not alone. I support women in whatever way they need me to, whether they want no pain relief, or everything that’s going, whether they want to breast feed, bottle feed or try a combination of both – their choices without any judgement from me. I am a mother and grandmother, my favourite things are spending time with my family, knitting and walking on the beach. As a trainee Doula, I don’t do bells and whistles, but I do bring support, love, friendship and honesty to those I work with.
