As a young mum (many years ago now) I found myself riding the rollercoaster of emotions, lacking support, and information and feeling somewhat isolated. Having read the one book that was then available, and every new parent seemed to read, I embarked on a journey of discovery through a mixture of laughter, tears, and my parents’ unwavering support. Through my own lived experience and my studies, I realised how overlooked the postnatal period is and how little support is out there for parents and my passion to change this has been fuelled from there. The early days can be very overwhelming and the vast amount of information available, often with conflicting views leaves parents feeling more confused than ever. I believe every parent should be able to easily access support during this time, whatever their circumstances and more so with the increased demands modern life places on us.
