Hi, I am in my mid forties and have a little boy called Rex who is the centre of my world. Having a baby for me turned out to be a lot more complex than I could ever have imagined, I think the strength I gained from all my negative experiences is what spurred me on to becoming a Doula. I wish I had known about Doulas when I was having my son, with no family around to offer support a Doula would have been invaluable to me. For me offering emotional and practical support to another woman during the most significant days of her life is a real honour. I am also a personal stylist, as before becoming a Doula I worked in fashion for over 20 years. Taking a woman out for the day and totally revamping her and watching her self-confidence begin to glow again is very rewarding.
